ABOUT
Chicago Built is owned and operated by William Demby.
William began as an apprentice for his cousin’s construction company for years before heading to Chicago to pursue creative writing at Columbia College Chicago.
Throughout school and after graduation, William’s love for carpentry kept him busy for 13 years in the windy city. Realizing he could have more flexibility and creativity by going solo, Chicago Built was born. He then became a member of the local carpenters union and worked on sets for TV and film until Covid-19 shut the studios down in March, 2020.
Wanting to be close to family, William returned to his hometown of Norwalk, CT and brought his years of experience with him. He is launching his Connecticut
based company, Built Right, which will specialize in remodeling, finish carpentry and specialty installations.
